A house for taking a plunge

This Loganlea house has its quirks, with the architectural design blending with the interior colour scheme.

Modern patterns are indicative that the house is relatively new, being built just six years ago.

The quirks begin with a spa-sized plunge pool in the backyard. It’s the shape of a spa, the size of a spa, but there are no bubbles – just the chlorinated dip to cool everyone down in the hot weather.

One of the features of the four-bedroom home is the size of the block, weighing in at 663 square metres.

And if security’s important, it comes in spades. The block is fully fenced and there’s CCTV, security gates, intercom and a fully-integrated alarm system.

The fencing offers good privacy in a neatly-presented backyard.

Inside, let the unusual, but intensely livable design, continue. The floors are bamboo and the colour scheme in one instance stretches into a feature wall. Sliding doors allow an abundance of light for a long stretch of indoor-outdoor living.

And high ceilings up to 2.7m add to the spacious feeling.

The kitchen is minimalist with a butler’s pantry, gas cooktop and quality appliances. Add caesar stone benchtops and high gloss cabinets and the home has evidently been built with quality in mind.

Again, the kitchen looks to the backyard to complement a design leaning towards an abundantly Queensland outdoor lifestyle.

The main of two bathrooms has modern tiles over a stand-alone bathtub and large shower.

There’s a two-car garage, and stark brickwork. The owners have gone for a tropical feel with bamboo and palms in the backyard.

Agent Ryan Murphy said architecturally-designed houses such as this didn’t crop up in the Loganlea area often. Most homes on the market were older.

“This one’s got some special appeal,” he said.

In addition, the house has ducted air conditioning, premium carpet in all rooms and an easy-care garden.

The agents are feeling the market with this house, but recent market conditions would suggest it may fetch in the high $500,000s.
