Nominate an unsung hero for an award

There are plenty of unsung heroes in our city, many of whom are happy to shun the limelight.

Sometimes however a little bit of recognition can go a long way. Council likes to encourage and celebrate those special people who go ‘above and beyond’ for their communities.

The 2021 City of Logan Australia Day Awards recognise those extraordinary citizens who have contributed to improving our city.

They may have achieved something special this year, or served the local community over many years.

The awards are split into two categories –  Citizen of the Year and Young Citizen of the Year.

The Citizen of the Year is presented to a person for their outstanding endeavours, achievements and community involvement.

The Young Citizen of the Year is for people aged under 27 years (as of 26 January 2021) and is presented to someone who has made an outstanding contribution to the community.

There are so many community-minded people in Logan who volunteer with charity work, have developed programs to support their communities and generally just go that extra mile for others.

These exceptional people deserve our recognition and our heartfelt thanks.

Nominations for the City of Logan Australia Day Awards close on December 7.

For more information on the awards, or to see nomination criteria, search for Australia Day Awards at logan.qld.gov.au

You never know,  the next City of Logan Citizen of the Year could be someone you nominate.
