Captains pledge year of joy

Emmaus College’s 2022 captains have pledged to serve the Emmaus College community by working with and for students, to maintain the friendliness of the spacious P-12 community and provide a place where each student can grow, learn and belong.

College captains Candice Cousins and Isaac Oberhauser have the support of the entire student body and a dedicated team of student leaders and staff mentors to help them achieve their goals.

“It’s an honour to be selected as captains in the year that the College celebrates its 20 year anniversary,” Candice said.

“It’s our goal to make each person feel valued and to gain confidence in who they are as individuals. At Emmaus, each student’s voice is heard and respected, because that matters most.”

Candice and Isaac said: “The theme for the college this year focuses on joy.

“Being part of college life, whether that be in a sports team, music ensemble or in our classes, helps us to develop skills to bring joy to the wider community.”

Isaac said: “I’m a proud member of my school and I’ve been fortunate to have been part of Emmaus College since year 3.

“I have had many opportunities to develop as a person and our hope as the 2022 Captains, is that other students will get to experience many of these opportunities for themselves”.
