The Queensland Parliament’s Health Committee will be in Logan this Thursday for a public hearing on the state of primary, allied and private healthcare, aged care, and the NDIS.
The hearing will take place at Diggers Services Club between 9.30am and 11.30am.
Member for Woodridge Cameron Dick is encouraging locals to attend and share their experiences with the health system.
“We need the federal government to do more when it comes to affordable and accessible healthcare,” Mr Dick said.
“There aren’t enough bulk billing GPs available, specialists are unaffordable to the average family, and we have a shortage of aged care and disability care beds.
“All this is resulting in more people presenting at state-run emergency departments, putting unnecessary strain on our hospital system.
“That’s why I’m asking Logan residents to have their voices heard, so the parliamentary committee can understand firsthand the impact that problems with primary healthcare are having on our community.”
