Logan City Council is continuing with a push to provide cafe vendors with licenses in the city’s most popular parks.
Underwood Park is the latest to have a cafe offering coffee and snacks.
Near the colloquially named FUNderwood Hollow playground area, the cafe is part of a redevelopment which Logan councillor Tony Hall says will be well suited to young families.
The area is also a popular spot to meet for the local mountain biking community.
Cr Hall said Logan City Council recently undertook a tender process to attract experienced operators to operate the café.
“We were pleased by the interest shown and the news that Moonlight Bandit Café will initially operate the café between 8am and 2pm on Saturdays and Sundays,” Cr Hall said.
Café operators Michael and Laura Thompson have signed a 12-month licence.
They are also operators of the Moonlight Bandit café in Parfrey Road, Rochedale South.
“This popular recreational precinct is regularly visited by a large number of visitors and I’m sure the new café will be warmly welcomed by the community,” Cr Lisa Bradley said.
