Organisations benefit from gambling grant allocation

Fourteen not-for-profit organisations in Logan are set for some help from Queensland’s gambling community benefit fund.

A share of nearly $270,000 will help pay for club upgrades and fixes, new equipment, and the general running of major events.

HELP Employment gets a new bus.

“We are extremely grateful for the funding,” HELP Enterprises executive Denver Fresser said.

“The mini-bus will be used to bring disadvantaged jobseekers including Indigenous and other groups to attend educational training workshops where they will acquire skills required to gain employment.”

Beneficiaries include:

Jimboomba Branch Little Athletics Centre Inc – purchase equipment $13,724.00

The Logan Village Men’s Shed Inc – lay concrete slabs $35,000.00

Yarrabilba State Secondary College P&C – Construct Seed Propagation and Plant Growing Facility – $30,650.00

Eliminators Hot Rod & American Car Club Inc – purchase a solar system, upgrade facility and purchase refrigerators – $34,921.00

HELP Enterprises Limited – purchase new bus – $35,000.00

Sewing for Charity Australia Limited – purchase embroidery machine – $25,000.00

Cornubia Netball Association – upgrade canteen and purchase equipment – $30,375.00

Daisy Hill State School P & C – purchase equipment – $14,103.92

Phoenix Gems Sports Club Inc – purchase equipment – $6,323.20

Brisbane – Southern Districts Working Equitation Inc – purchase equipment and conduct training – $3,851.00

Hurricane Starfish Swimming Club Inc – purchase equipment – $2,716.40

Logan Roos Football Club Inc – purchase tables and chairs – $12,431.00

Learning & Lifestyle Kingston – upgrade facilities – $11,428.00

Foundations Care – construct a sensory room – $15,600.00
