It’s time to speak up Logan and to have your say on shaping the future of our city.
Ours is a city that is unique and resilient, diverse and proud.
Did you know there are 217 different nationalities and cultures living in Logan? We are home to around 335,000 people – set to boom to 500,000 by 2036.
With 69 suburbs, from city living, to leafy suburbs and rural and farming, we have some wonderful opportunities and we want to make sure we get the planning right.
With two Priority Development Areas and $18 billion in planned development, Logan is experiencing its fastest rate of growth.
Council is engaging with the community on matters including how we manage this growth, future planning and development and public safety and social enterprise.
And it’s your voice that could make all the difference.
Over the next 10 months we are rolling out a Community Visioning strategy that will guide the development of the 2022-2027 Corporate Plan.
The Corporate Plan is Council’s roadmap to identify and harness opportunities for the City of Logan. It also sets a framework to ensure our residents – and future residents – receive the very best customer service and the delivery of essential services.
Your ideas are vital to future decision making with Council eager to better understand your values and aspirations.
My fellow Councillors and I will also reach out to you via social media so please take this opportunity to engage with us too.
Community visioning is an essential process in the development of Council’s long-term strategies. It was a key element of the Strategic Planning and Performance Management Framework, adopted by Council last December.
We are also seeking your feedback to help shape Council’s five-year framework for safety initiatives across the city.
The City of Logan: Safe City Strategy and Action Plan 2021-2025 aims to create a safer city by adopting a holistic approach to community safety.
The draft strategy is the result of extensive stakeholder consultation and is open to community feedback until October 11.
It will demonstrate how Council aims to reduce crime, increase feelings of safety and enhance residents’ quality of life, through the delivery of a range of community safety initiatives across the city.
The 2020 Logan Listens: Residents’ Survey is also open online. This is your opportunity to comment on your satisfaction and experience with Council services, facilities and customer service.
Together we can continue to proudly build on our success and to plan for any challenges that might come our way.
