In an effort to build a local live music scene, emerging and professional musicians are being invited to attend free development sessions.
Logan Live 2021 is hosted by Logan City Council, and sessions, named The Boost, will be held Tuesday evenings between July 20 and August 31 at Logan Art gallery and the Logan West Community Centre.
There will be no session on July 27, but the six free interactive sessions are open to artists of all levels who either live in the City of Logan or have a connection to the area.
Participants can meet and network with fellow artists along with leaders in the music industry including musicians, technicians and venue and label owners.
Boost has been developed specifically for musicians and people keen to get into the music industry to inspire them to follow their musical dreams, increase their confidence and get their music heard.
Presenters at Boost are highly awarded performers, with some having ARIA accolades.
These include City of Logan hip-hop band No Money Enterprise, which has amassed more than 10 million views on YouTube and toured domestically and internationally.
The sessions will discuss how to go from the rehearsal room to the green room and how to live stream and access global markets.
The Boost series is being co-ordinated by songwriter and guitarist Jimmy Watts, who has extensive national and international touring experience, both as a soloist and as a member of a seven-piece band.
With a passion for performing live, Jimmy is keen to help other musicians reach their full potential and impart his experience as a live sound engineer, stagehand and roadie, bookings manager and operations manager.
