Police have carried out a targeted operation across Rochedale South focusing on property crime, unsafe driving and community safety.
Queensland Police said Rochedale South officers conducted high-visibility patrols throughout the suburb on Saturday 22 August, targeting offences including car theft, property theft and unlawful use of vehicles.
Officers also conducted roadside breath testing and vehicle intercepts, identifying offences including unlicensed driving, learner-driver breaches, failure to stop at red lights and stop signs, and unnecessary smoke or noise from vehicles.
Police also issued enforcement action for bicycle and e-scooter riders not wearing helmets.
During the operation, officers spoke with residents about home security, including keeping car and house keys out of sight, locking garages and sheds, and considering security lighting and window locks.
Several young people found in public areas late at night were also spoken to and, where appropriate, helped return home safely.
Police from Rochedale South and Springwood said further operations would be conducted to target crime and road-safety offences in the area.
