Logan detectives are searching for two people after a firearm was allegedly produced during an attempted robbery at a Slacks Creek tobacconist.
Queensland Police said three males arrived at the Kingston Road business in a stolen Ford Falcon about 10.40pm on Tuesday 21 July.
Police say the group entered the store and one person produced a firearm before all three fled without taking anything.
No one was physically injured.
Officers later found the Falcon abandoned on Jacaranda Avenue at Kingston and police say three people ran into nearby bushland.
Following a foot pursuit, officers arrested a 17-year-old boy nearby who was allegedly carrying a knife and balaclava.
The Inala boy was charged with unlawful use of a motor vehicle, obstructing police and possessing a knife in a public place.
He is due to appear in Beenleigh Children’s Court on 27 July.
The Logan Criminal Investigation Branch is continuing efforts to identify and locate the other two people.
Anyone with relevant information or footage from Kingston Road or Jacaranda Avenue around the time has been urged to contact police.
