Crime scene declared after Kingston house fire

A crime scene has been declared after a house was engulfed by fire at Kingston on Tuesday afternoon.

Emergency services were called to Adelaide Street about 3.05pm on 21 July following reports the house was fully alight.

Queensland Police declared an emergency under the Public Safety Preservation Act about five minutes later.

An exclusion zone was established around the property, with residents inside the area told to remain indoors and other members of the public urged to stay away.

Police revoked the emergency declaration at 4.55pm.

Emergency services remained at the scene and had begun initial inquiries into the cause of the fire.

Police had not released information about possible injuries or whether anyone was inside the house.

Police thanked residents for their assistance during the emergency response.
