Warriors Inspire Logan school holiday clinic open for kids aged 5 to 14 at Heritage Park

Children across the City of Logan can train alongside rugby league professionals during the school holidays, with Warriors Inspire Logan hosting a clinic at Logan Metro Sports Complex on Thursday 2 July.

The clinic at 349 Browns Plains Road, Heritage Park, is open to children aged 5 to 14. Registration costs $39 and includes a Warriors take-home pack containing a drawstring bag, water bottle, wristband, mini squish ball and 2026 poster.

Three sessions are scheduled. Session 1 is for children aged 5 to 8, with registration from 9am to 9.30am and field activities running from 9.30am to 10.30am. An all-abilities session for ages 5 to 14 runs alongside Session 1, with registration from 9.05am. Session 2, for children aged 9 to 14, opens registration at 10.30am with field activities from 11am to 12.30pm.

Warriors Inspire Logan was established in July 2025 through a partnership between Logan City Council, the One New Zealand Warriors and property developer Ausbuild.

The program operates from Logan Metro Sports Park and combines an elite academy pathway with broader youth engagement.

Former Warriors front-rower Mark Tookey serves as community manager.

Tookey grew up playing for Logan Brothers and represented the Warriors in 67 games between 2000 and 2004, including the club’s inaugural grand final appearance in 2002.

Brad Donald, who coached the Australian Jillaroos to Rugby League World Cup victories in 2017 and 2022, is the program’s football manager.

Tookey said the program uses sport, culture and connection to create positive opportunities across Logan.

Warriors Inspire Logan has since been invited into schools, gala days and wellbeing initiatives throughout the city.

The program has moved quickly since its launch. More than 160 players registered for an under-16 combine at Logan Metro Sports Complex in December 2025.

About 60 athletes were subsequently selected to join the academy in early 2026.

The academy cohort has already attended a NSW Cup trial day in Logan and participated in the Warriors’ Magic Round experience.

Ausbuild managing director Matt Bell said sport creates pathways to employment.

“Sport can be a great way to make connections and find employment opportunities, including apprenticeships and jobs,” he said.

The July 2 clinic is part of the Our Logan school holiday program.

Families can register through the Warriors Inspire Logan website or the Our Logan events page.
