Several Beenleigh commercial spaces appear to still be on the market months after Logan City Council sought tenants for a group of council-owned or managed properties in Beenleigh and Springwood.
The council released a tender in October last year for current and upcoming vacancies across The York at 96–98 York Street, Beenleigh, 2 Main Street, Beenleigh, 1 Laurinda Crescent, Springwood, and 15 Vanessa Boulevard, Springwood.
The tender pack said the council was seeking high-quality tenants to contribute to the local community and commercial landscape.
The York offering included four SOHO tenancies of between 113sqm and 116sqm, and two 90sqm retail spaces which could be combined.
Spaces at 2 Main Street included smaller office tenancies and larger combined options, with tender and listing material advertising spaces from about 74sqm to 277sqm.
The tender closed on 31 October, but public commercial property listings updated in April and May show spaces at The York and 2 Main Street were still being advertised for lease.
A CommercialRealEstate.com.au listing for 96–98 York Street, last updated on 16 April, advertised office and retail opportunities, including 90sqm spaces and wider leasing options up to 460sqm.
A separate Lease.com.au listing for 2 Main Street, dated 4 May, advertised 74sqm, 133sqm and 207sqm town-centre office options.
The York has been a major piece of Beenleigh’s commercial property landscape since the seven-storey building sold for $33.52 million in 2021, with a government tenant secured over the office component.
The latest leasing push comes as Beenleigh continues to be promoted as a civic and commercial centre between Brisbane and the Gold Coast, with nearby rail, motorway and town-centre access.
