A Queensland police officer has been stood down after being charged with alleged drug offences.
Queensland Police said a senior constable from the Emergency Response and Coordination Command had been served with a notice to appear.
The officer has been charged with one count each of possessing dangerous drugs and possessing utensils or pipes that had allegedly been used while the officer was off duty.
The senior constable is expected to appear in Beenleigh Magistrates Court on 24 June.
Queensland Police said it had informed the public “in keeping with [their] commitment to high standards of behaviour, transparency and accountability” when a member faced serious misconduct allegations.
Police said the charges did not mean the allegations had been substantiated.
