Lawn bowlers chose blue or pink and dressed up for Beenleigh Bowls Club’s annual day raising awareness of breast and prostate cancer.
Beenleigh Bowls Club vice chairman Eileen Gough said it was a great day out and the club raised $3000 for cancer research.
“Greens were swimming in pink and blue, with many spectators also dressed to suit,” Mrs Gough said.
“Even some hair dye was on show.
“There were donated raffles and even a quilt by one of our very talented ladies.”
Mrs Gough said the kitty for bias bowls was also donated.
“Bowls have a bias with two emblems. They need to be delivered with the little emblem on the inside and the large emblem on the outside,” Mrs Gough said.
“If a bowler is not careful and sends the bowl incorrectly, the bowl will veer away from the Jack instead of towards it. There is a fun penalty each day of $1 or 50c.”
