The Logan Fun Run will return to Meadowbrook this month, marking 10 years of community running, walking and fundraising at Griffith University’s Logan campus.
The 2026 Griffith Sport Logan Fun Run presented by Ray White AKG will be held on Sunday 31 May, with 2km, 5km and 10km courses starting from Griffith University Logan on University Drive.
Organisers said reaching 10 years was a major milestone for the event and the wider Logan community.
“Reaching 10 years is a huge milestone for the Griffith Sport Logan Fun Run and something we’re incredibly proud to celebrate with students, staff and the local community,” Griffith Sport said.
“The event has always been about promoting health, wellness, and connection for people of all ages, so to see that impact continue over an entire decade is very special.”
Griffith Sport said this year’s event was already more than 75 per cent sold out and was on track to be its biggest year to date.
The event precinct opens at 6.30am, with the 2km colour fun run starting at 7am, the 10km race at 7.55am and the 5km race at 8.15am.
The 2km colour fun run will return after selling out in its first year, alongside the traditional 5km and 10km distances.
Griffith University student Holly Bryant said it was special to be involved in last year’s event as both a participant and the designer behind the 2025 event branding.
“It’s not often you’re given the opportunity to work on a project where you can really go all out and put so much of your own flair into it, even less so while still being a student,” Ms Bryant said.
“Seeing so many people running with the designs I created was so exciting, and I’m so grateful to have been part of it.”
Griffith University staff member Sharon Paterson said she had participated in the Logan Fun Run for the past four years.
“As a Logan staff member, I feel it’s important to support this fantastic event and I’m looking forward to being part of it again this year, especially given it’s the 10-year anniversary,” Ms Paterson said.
“Last year, my son and I took part in the 2km colour run which he loved.”
Organisers say the longer courses include a range of terrain, from dirt and grass to gravel and asphalt, with turns, short steep hills and longer sections across the cross-country route.
The 2026 event will again support Ronald McDonald House South East Queensland, with a fundraising goal of $10,000.
Griffith Sport said the funds would go towards adopting a room at Ronald McDonald House South East Queensland Herston for a year.
All participants this year will receive a special 10-year commemorative medal.
Schools are also being encouraged to take part through the Logan Fun Run Schools Challenge, which is open to primary and secondary schools.
The school with the highest number of points at the end of the event will be named Schools Challenge champion and receive a $1000 cash prize.
Griffith Sport said John Paul College and Wishart State School had shown strong participation so far, while Community Bank Logan Village currently held the title for largest team, with more than 100 members registered.
“Every year has brought something unique,” Griffith Sport said.
“Some of the biggest highlights have been seeing the community come together for a fun and active family day, partnering with incredible sponsors who share our vision, and watching participants of all ages challenge themselves and get involved.”
