Inala Multicultural Festival returns this June

The Inala Multicultural Festival is back for its fourth year for a day of free fun, rides and cultural performances.

Run by Inala Community House, the festival will be held on Tuesday 30 June from 9am to 3pm at Dogs Queensland in Durack.

Inala Community House spokesperson Haley Kiata describes the festival as “the Ekka of Inala”.

“This one day is a one stop shop of pure, free, absolute fun that we provide to the community” that “highlights the vibrancy that is Inala”.

Inala Community House provides free activities and events to residents year-round, but this event is quickly becoming their legacy.

Ms Kiata says the team are the “world champions of cheerleading”, and it takes a massive team to coordinate the event.

They encourage people to volunteer and provide an hour or two of their time throughout the day.

If you’d like to volunteer, you can apply via Seek, or contact Inala Community House through its reception or social media.

The festival has grown from 3000 visitors in its first year to more than 7000 in its third, with even higher expectations for this year.

Ms Kiata says the festival is a “space of pure celebration of cultural diversity, [which] gives people the opportunity to experience cultures in a positive and safe way.

“Life is beautiful when you have the contributions of different foods vibes cultural language and experience,” she said..

“Inala Multicultural Festival is the epitome of beauty coming together and being celebrated, and anyone who wants to be a part of that should come along.”
