Two injured after armed home invasion in Rochedale South

A woman, 33, and a man, 42, have been injured during an armed robbery at their home in Rochedale South just early this morning.

Police said that just after 2am, five masked men forced their way into a house on Rhonda Street.

Two were carrying what appeared to be a firearm, while another was armed with a pinch bar.

The group woke the five people inside, three adults and two teenagers, and demanded cash and drugs.

The 33-year-old woman was hit on the head with a firearm, leaving her with bruising and a cut.

The 42-year-old man was hit on his right hand and leg with the pinch bar, causing minor injuries.

The offenders then stole a box of personal belongings, including phones and other items, before leaving the scene.

Both injured adults were treated at the scene and did not require hospitalisation.

Police are urging anyone with information, or relevant CCTV or dashcam footage, to contact them as investigations continue.
