Free Easter meal to bring community together at Slacks Creek

A free community lunch aimed at tackling loneliness and social isolation will return to Slacks Creek this Easter.

The event, known as The Good Feed, will be held on Good Friday, 3 April, at the Impact Centre at Slacks Creek, where organisers expect hundreds of people to share a meal and spend time together.

Run by Impact Care Services in partnership with the Lord Mayor’s Charitable Trust, the event has become a regular gathering in the community, taking place twice a year during Easter and Christmas.

Organisers say the lunch is designed to provide a welcoming place for people who might otherwise spend the holiday alone.

Guests will be served a free three-course Easter meal and can take part in light entertainment and social activities during the afternoon.

Previous events have drawn large crowds.

Organisers say 287 people attended the Easter event in 2025, while more than 500 guests gathered for the Christmas edition later that year.

The program also includes small gifts for children and opportunities for guests to connect with local support services if they need ongoing help.

Organisers said the aim was not only to provide food, but also to create a place where people could talk, meet new friends and feel part of the community.

The Good Feed will begin at 12pm at 3357 Pacific Highway, Slacks Creek.

Community members are welcome to attend and share the Easter meal.
