An Inala man, 37, was arrested after police alleged he stabbed a man in the finger while trying to break into his house.
Police said they were called to a house on Tamarind Street just before 11pm on 12 March where the 37-year-old man had tried to break into a house.
The homeowner, a 29-year-old Inala man, was taken to hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
Police found and arrested the alleged offender, who had puncture wounds in his arm, in Poinciana Street shortly after the incident.
He was also taken to hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
Police charged the man with grievous bodily harm, carrying a knife and burglary.
He was expected to face Richlands Magistrates Court on 13 March.
