Developers open grant scheme for local organisations

Eligible community groups in Logan’s south are being invited to apply for a share in $10,000, as developer Cedar Woods Properties reopens its community grants program for a second year.

The funding is available to schools, sporting clubs and not-for-profit organisations operating in South Maclean and surrounding suburbs, near the company’s Flourish masterplanned community.

Cedar Woods was established in Perth in 1987 and delivers residential subdivisions, medium and high-density housing, and retail and commercial projects.

In Queensland, it is also developing communities at Upper Kedron and Burpengary.

Chief operating officer Patrick Archer said more than 150 community groups had received support nationally since the grants program began in 2009.

The first round linked to the South Maclean development was in 2025, with three Logan organisations sharing the $10,000 pool.

Among the recipients was the Logan Wildlife Association, which used the funding to buy equipment for wildlife rescue and rehabilitation.

Community group Onwards & Upwards, also known as Flagstone Foodshare, used its grant for food hampers and fuel vouchers for people experiencing hardship.

Mr Archer said applications for the 2026 round would close on 20 March, with successful recipients to be announced in early April.

The grants are designed to support local initiatives as the South Maclean community continues to grow, with funding expected to flow to groups across Logan’s southern suburbs.
