Logan residents will once again pay full price for public pool entry this summer.
Last year, Mayor Jon Raven said Logan City Council would consider introducing lower public pool entry prices in the future, like neighbour Brisbane’s two-dollar summer entry fee initiative.
But when asked about the topic last week, Cr Raven said, “Logan City Council does not have plans to introduce a seasonal pool entry fee”.
Adults in Logan pay as much as $6.50 to enter public pools.
Cr Raven defended council policy and said entry fees at Logan pools were some of the lowest in south-east Queensland.
“Entry fees at Logan’s public pools are, on average, 15% lower for adults and 25% lower for children compared to similar pools in Brisbane, Moreton Bay, Gold Coast, and Sunshine Coast,” he said.
“This makes Logan’s pools the most affordable option across the region year-round, not just for three months.
“Many of Council’s pools saw their entry fees reduced this year compared to the previous year, further demonstrating Council’s commitment to providing affordable pool access for residents.”
Cr Raven said residents could purchase unlimited access to all six of Logan’s aquatic centres for $13.50 per person per week, which works out to less than two dollars per day.
Also referring to Logan’s five free water play areas, which include Flagstone water play park, Alexander Clark Park, Darlington Parklands, Logan Gardens and Mabel Park.
Cr Raven said the council would review pool entry fees as part of its annual budget process and that discussion for the 2026/2027 budget would begin early next year.
