Woodridge man faces armed robbery charges, police say

A Woodridge man, 37, was due to face a Caboolture court on charges of armed robbery and dangerous driving.

The man was arrested on the D’Aguilar Highway near Blackbutt after police intercepted a car at 2.25pm on 14 December.

Police allege the car, a silver Mazda 6, was stolen from Chardean Street in Acacia Ridge at around 4.45am that Sunday.

After stopping the Mazda using a tyre deflation device, police allege the Woodridge man, and another man from Cherbourg, aged 27, fled on foot before police located them a short time later.

Both men were charged with armed robbery and dangerous driving. They were due to face the Caboolture Magistrates’ Court on 15 December.

Police say their investigations are ongoing and urge the public to come forward with CCTV and dashcam footage relevant to the incident.
