A new community in Greenbank will be opening in a style truly Logan.
We’re one of the most diverse cities in the country, and hundreds of locals are getting ready to celebrate that with a new festival, dubbed Tastes of Home, on Anderson Drive.
Held on Saturday 15 November from 10am-1pm, organisers have promised the festival will be a “passport to the world”, with 16 display homes showcasing life in the area, and each featuring a different cuisine inspired by global destinations.
These range from Egypt to France and England, India to Japan and, of course, Australia.
There will be floral arranging, charcuterie, wine tasting, teppanyaki, Indian street food, barbeque and gin tasting, with an array of fun for the littlest members of the family including street entertainment, bubbles, cupcake decorating, pinwheel making and food trucks.
Greenbank could be viewed as a microcosm of Logan City – diverse, fast-growing and close-knit.
It is one of the fastest growing suburbs in Logan, with more than 800 homes built in the Everleigh estate in the last four years, and another 800 expected to be built in the next four.
The week following the Tastes of Home festival, the developers of Everleigh are opening another 28-lot community.
