Two from Logan Village charged with driving stolen car

Two people from Logan Village, a 26-year-old man and a 25-year-old woman, were charged with driving a car police allege was stolen from a Southport address.

One other person, a 28-year-old man from Molendinar, was also charged by police for the same alleged offence and also for possession of “dangerous drugs”, police said in a statement.

At 10.40pm on 23 August, police were called to Rotary Park Road in Alberton after neighbours reported and then held a group of people trying to break into a house until police could arrive at the scene.

Police said they recovered a Volkswagen Eon at the scene, which they allege was stolen from Wardoo Street in Southport last month (July).

All three people appeared at the Southport Magistrates’ Court today (25 August). Police investigations into the incident are ongoing, they said.
