What’s on in Logan West? September

1 September: Talk, sing, read, and play at Logan Central’s story time for children under 5 years old and their guardians, from 10am to 10:30am.

2 September: Join library staff at page turners, a reading program where staff listen to children read or read to children to foster a love of reading. From 3pm to 4pm at Logan Central Library.

3 September: Join a monthly life drawing session at Logan Art Gallery from 5:30pm to 7:30pm. Each session features a live model, and the gallery will provide limited paper and drawing tools for beginners. All skill levels welcome. 

3 September: Support your baby’s brain development and literacy skills at Logan West Library’s baby time from 10am to 10:30am.

4 September: One-on-one personalised reading sessions with library staff for adults who need help with reading at Logan Central Library from 10am to 11am.

5 September: Join a writing group at Logan Central Library to stay focused during writing sessions from 10am to 2pm.

7 September: Celebrate father’s day at Brown Plains Hotel with a buffest breakfast and live entertainment from 8am.

12 September: Watch a range of theatrical performances from local high school students at the first Logan Drama Festival hosted by Logan Arts at the Kingston Butter Factory, from 6pm. 

17 September: Explore a variety of job and training opportunities in trades, manufacturing, and construction industries for free at the Logan Jobs Expo. From 9am to 4pm at Logan Metro and Sports Centre. 

19 September: Join a story time with Tui ‘n’ friends with a Pacific Islands twist, with music, games, and dancing from 11am to 11:30am at Logan West Library.

26 September: Create and decorate your own windchime at Logan West Library for young people 10 years and older, from 2:30pm to 3:30pm.

26 September: Watch top performers battle it out in a fire knife competition, celebrating Samoan culture and showcasing the dance of warriors at Toa Ole Afi-Pati Levasa. Competition heats begin at 3pm on Friday, finals and award presentations at 5pm on Saturday, 27. 

27 September: Explore Aboriginal Languages with Uncle Robert Ah Wing at an interactive workshop at Logan Central’s Library from 10am to 11:30am.

27 September: Learn easy tips for reducing the amount of food your family throws away and save money with a hands-on workshop at Logan West Library from 10:30am to 12pm.
