Firstly, great to see a local paper again. Have been missing the others for some years now and hope that your paper stays for some time into the future.
I have just picked up this week’s Mycity Logan 23-29 Mar edition and have see the article “Building of rail trail Underway”.
Great to see that the old rail lines have a second life, as many don’t.
When I first heard about the rail trail being built a couple years ago I wondered if the line other than the 3.5km would be upgraded as well.
I wonder if the Logan council has thought about the remaining rail line at least from Waterford to Tambourine Village, or maybe future down the line as I’m not sure how far it goes?
Reason I am asking is if this has been considered, like that of the Brisbane Valley Rail Trail from Ipswich to Yarraman.
If Logan City Council is promoting an active and biking culture to its people this could be a huge way to have the public to get active. I for one would use it on a frequent basis.
Could I ask City lifestyle chair person Laurie Koranski if they have considered expanding the trail beyond the 3.5kms from Logan Village to Yarrabilba and if they have also thought about a association, like the BVRT, to work on the project?
Jessie,
via email.
