Invite your friends and colleagues to enjoy a night of great food, live entertainment, and exciting raffles at the “Pay It Forward” Dinner Fundraiser on 22 February.
This vibrant event supports Defenders Soul Kitchen, raising funds for essential kitchen equipment to keep serving up to 150 meals weekly to those in need across Jimboomba.
“The fundraiser is about more than just a meal; it’s about creating connections and making a real difference,” said Tomeeka Smith, Founder of Defenders For Hope.
“This event will help us purchase new equipment, allowing us to continue providing quality meals.”
Held at 82 Anders Street, Jimboomba, the event will feature a three-course meal, with tickets priced at $40 each.
Half of the ticket price goes toward a meal, while the other half supports the “Pay It Forward” initiative, providing meals to those in need.
“We want to spread a sense of community and kindness,” Ms. Smith said.
“When someone buys a ticket, they’re not only helping themselves but supporting others who need it.”
With only 40 seats available, the intimate event promises a welcoming atmosphere for all attendees.
“It’s a small venue, which makes it special,” Ms. Smith said.
“It’s a chance to enjoy a great evening and contribute to a meaningful cause.”
Since its opening in October 2023, the Defenders Soul Kitchen has become a vital resource for the community, providing nutritious meals like fried rice, creamy pasta, and chicken dishes, all made from ingredients donated by local businesses and food banks.
“We focus on making wholesome meals, not fast food,” Ms. Smith said.
“Many of our clients can’t afford healthy options, so we strive to be a space where they can enjoy a proper meal.”
The kitchen also offers food and coffee to local tradies visiting the nearby industrial estate.
“We’ve seen a lot of support from the community,” Ms. Smith said.
“It’s wonderful to see how many people care about helping others.”
Tickets for the Pay It Forward Dinner Fundraiser are selling quickly, with about half already sold.
“It’s going to be a great night, and we’re excited to see everyone come together to support this cause,” Ms. Smith said.
“It’s a perfect opportunity to unwind and enjoy some fantastic live entertainment.”
