Guardians for the future

A new program for those looking to boost their employability has started in Logan.

Run by local charity Guardians of Tomorrow, the 12-week ‘Foundation for Future’ program provides participants with computer, literacy, numeracy, and language skills, along with a Certificate II in Skills for Work and Vocational Pathways.

Guardians of Tomorrow founder Illiaz Mohammed said the program was completely free.

“Guardian Of Tomorrow was established for one reason only, and that was to help the disadvantaged,” he said.

“Teaching someone the foundation skills and getting them employment is the best gift you can give someone, especially in this climate.”

Mr Mohammed said the program taught the soft skills needed for employment and provided them with job experience.

“Employment will be tailored around each participant,” he said.

“To build a better future for oneself you must take the first step and getting employment to support yourself and family is a great outcome and a right of each individual.”

An information session about the program will be held on Thursday 8 August, from 10am-12pm, at 3/84 Wembley Road, Logan Central.
