Three teenagers have been charged over the alleged assault of a 17-year-old Beenleigh boy, who was found lying “seriously injured” in the middle of the road.
Police say emergency services were called to the intersection of Alamein Street and Savages Parade around 11pm on Wednesday (26 June) following reports of “a male laying in the middle of the road”.
Upon arrival, police found a 17-year-old Beenleigh boy with serious injuries.
“He was transported to Gold Coast University Hospital in a serious condition,” a police statement said.
As of today (Saturday 29 June), the 17-year-old remains in hospital in a “serious but stable condition”.
Police say a 16-year-old Eagleby boy and two 15-year-old Beenleigh boys have now been charged with one count each of grievous bodily harm and will be dealt with under the provisions of the Youth Justice Act.
