A 26-year-old Logan man has been arrested after an alleged carjacking, which was followed by multiple “hit and runs” at Wooloongabba this morning (12 June).
Police say a 43-year-old woman in a white Hyundai i30, parked outside a Tottenham Street shopping complex, was approached by a man armed with a knife at around 8am.
“The man, not known to her, demanded the woman’s vehicle,” a police statement said.
“The woman complied and was not physically injured.”
The man left the scene in the Hyundai, which police say then hit a Kia Sportage along O’Keefe Street.
The Hyundai was then driven into a Mazda CX-30 and a BMW iX3 along Main Avenue at Stones Corner.
Police say it was a “hit-and-run”.
The drivers of the Kia and the Mazda suffered non-life-threatening injuries.
The BMW driver was unharmed.
The Hyundai was abanadoned near a rugby league club on Main Avenue, Coorparoo.
The alleged driver, a 26-year-old Logan man, was arrested a “short time later” at Sixth Avenue.
“He was transported to the Princess Alexandra Hospital with non-life-threatening injuries where he continues to assist police with investigations,” the statement said.
Witnesses or anyone with relevant dashcam vision is urged to contact police.
