A new community centre on Trailblazer Drive at Flagstone is a hive of activity, just 10 months after opening its doors.
The Uniting Church is managing the centre which already offers immunisation, children’s clinics, support groups, play groups, a food bank and a range of courses, groups and clubs.
“Susan”, who manages the centre, says it’s a place where community services are offered, where groups can meet, where people can feel safe and where people can learn and grow.
“We hope this is a place you can come and feel welcomed, cared for and respected,” she said.
“A great addition to the centre is the women’s counsellor from the Centre for Woman and Co.”
Jimboomba Police Officer in Charge, Senior Sergeant Peter Waugh said he was impressed with the services available in Flagstone.
“The Flagstone Community Centre is a welcome addition to the Flagstone community,” Senior Sergeant Waugh said.
“The services offered by the centre are second to none and I encourage all those that would benefit from the services offered at the centre to make contact.”
Local police will be continuing work within the community and making use of these new support services.
