Candidates to challenge ECQ “debacle”

At least one Logan City councillor will be calling for a review of the electoral commission’s handling of the local government elections.

Returning councillor Lisa Bradley last week wrote on Facebook that the council election “debacle” saw voters’ queue for hours, while disabled voters “had no option in some cases but to stand for an unacceptable amount of time”.

“This is not what I would expect our residents to have to tolerate going forward. I will be looking at our options of how to deal with what I consider a debacle,” Cr Bradley wrote.

I will be conferring with my Councillor colleagues and, at the very least, asking for a review of the Electoral Commission Queensland election process.”
