Daring rooftop heist halted

Two Logan teens and a man were arrested last week following an attempted roof-top escape over an allegedly stolen car.

Police found the stolen Lexus station wagon abandoned in a carpark along George Street at Beenleigh.

While police were on the scene, three people returned to the car.

A 17-year-old Logan Central boy climbed up onto the roof of a nearby building and needed to be rescued by a cherry picker.

The two others escaped.

While the 17-year-old was being taken into custody, two associates arrived at the scene in an allegedly stolen Toyota Yaris.

Police also took them into custody.
