Support for Logan veterans will be strengthened by research organisations receiving funding through a one-off Queensland Government grants program.
The recipients include the Gallipoli Medical Research Foundation, to enable health and wellbeing self-support, and to study chronic pain in female veterans.
Griffith University, with a campus situated in Logan will also receive funding to develop alcohol prevention programs.
Assistant Minister to the Premier for Veterans’ Affairs and the Public Sector Bart Mellish said there were many great organisations which support veterans.
“It is important we understand the issues which can affect veterans, so we continue to support ex-service personnel and their families today and into the future,” he said.
