Child safety education and awareness week coincided with Day for Daniel last week – Daniel Morcombe Foundation’s national day of action.
Queensland police issued advice to parents, carers, educators and children to promote child safety awareness.
“It is important to teach children how to recognise when they feel unsafe and to understand it is okay to scream, run, say no and tell an adult,” a police statement said.
Police advised all parents and carers to ensure children are aware of their personal safety network, including parents, grandparents, family members, friends and teachers they can trust to keep them safe.
