The Australian Budgerigar Society is this year celebrating its 66th birthday.
The group of more than 110 enthusiasts (including 24 juniors) meets on the third Friday of each month at the clubhouse – 1 Plantation Road, Beenleigh – at 6:30pm.
Each month, members listen to guest speakers, DVD presentations and hold discussions.
Table Shows are held at every meeting, with up to 40 birds benched and great prizes awarded.
The club’s 66th Anniversary Carnival Show was held on Sunday 15 October, but Vice President Wayne Robinson said it would be a “year-long celebration”.
The Australian Budgerigar Society was formed in 1957 and is always looking for new members and is always welcome to visitors.
Since 2014, the club has grown by more than 70 members.
