Gracehouse, 123 Paradise Road at Slacks Creek. Family tickets cost $60, single tickets cost $30 and concession tickets $25. Tickets can be purchased by making Electronic Funds Transfer (ELT) to TAQ Suncorp Bank:

Social pickeball

Join the Rotary Club Browns Plains every Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday for a social session of pickleball. Played on a Badminton court, pickleball is a popular and fast growing sport similar to tennis, but a paddle and hollow plastic ball are used instead of a racquet and tennis ball. The free games are held at St Bernardine’s Primary School from 6:30-8:30pm. All equipment and coaching provided.

Cent auction

Logan East Community Centre is holding a cent auction on Saturday 14 October at the Springwood Community Centre, 55-57 Cinderella Drive. Doors will open at 10am for an 11am start. The event will conclude at 2pm. Entry is $5, which includes a snack and 1 sheet of tickets. Extra sheets are $1.00 each. There are amazing prizes to be won.

Parkinson’s support group

People with Parkinson’s, carers and their supporters have been invited to a local support group. The group meets at the Loganholme Library (beside the Hyperdome) on the third Tuesday of each month until November, between 10-11:30am. Come and share experiences, information and practical tips and hear advice from guest speakers on living with Parkinson’s disease. No fees. Phone John or Alison on 0427734350 or email loganpdgroup@parkinsonsqld.org.au for more info.

Writing Fridays

Join other Logan writers in a “sit down and write” group at Logan Central Library this Friday 6 October. This is an opportunity for local writers to sit down, focus and write. A volunteer writing facilitator will use a timer to keep everyone focused on their writing projects. There will be short breaks where you can catch up with the other writing participants. 10am-2pm. Book online.
