Parkinson’s support

People with Parkinson’s, and their carers and supporters can join a support group that meets in the Loganholme Library next to the Hyperdome. The group meets between 10am and 11.30am on the third Tuesday of each month until November. Attendees are invited to share experiences, information and practical tips, and hear advice from guest speakers on living with Parkinson’s disease. No fees. Tai Chi

Tai Chi sessions on Saturday 16 September, from 8-9am at Loganlea Community Centre, 28-32 Timms Street, Loganlea. Tai Chi can enhance balance, strength and coordination, improve flexibility, as well as physical and mental wellbeing. Wear enclosed shoes. Call 0738058260.

Men’s shed

Men’s sheds are non-profit organisations that improve the health of men. Members work on meaningful projects at their own pace, in their own time and in the company of others. A key focus is to advance the wellbeing and health of members and to encourage social inclusion. Runs on Mondays, Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Fridays at the Logan City Community Men’s Shed in Crestmead. $50 annual joining fee. Call 0483 223 204

Social badminton

Come and join Brisbane Legends for a social game of Badminton. Learn how to play the fast-paced game in a fun and engaging way and meet new people. $15 per person. On Saturday 16 September, from 8-10am at Sky Badminton Centre, 116-118 Wembley Rd, Logan Central. Call 0429 429 224

Art exhibition

The latest exhibition at Logan Art Gallery has started. Celebrating its 31st year, Artwaves 2023 is an annual art exhibition of work sourced from local high school students. Entry is free. This exhibition will run until Saturday 14 October 2023.
