Koala breeding season has kicked off for 2023 and Logan City council has begun an awareness program to help protect the endangered species.
If you go searching for koalas in Logan, look for these signs that show a koala might be in the area:
-scratch marks on trees
-scats (poo) around the base of trees
Koala’s have been sighted in many parks across the city including Daisy Hill Conservation Park, Springwood Conservation Park and Meakin Park, Slacks Creek.
If you see a sick or injured koala, call the RSPCA on 1300 ANIMAL (1300 264 625) or Wildcare on 075527 2444.
