Wakakirri Story Dance

The Wakakirri Story-Dance Festival is taking the stage at Logan Entertainment Centre this week.

The festival is a national program that helps schools develop student engagement and wellbeing through participation in the performing arts.

Schools create ‘Story-Dances’, which are performed across Australia every year.

The performances are inspired by the Wakakirri ethos: great stories inspire change.

The dances will explore environmental, social, cultural, health, historical and reconciliation stories

Each year hundreds of schools across Australia create and perform Story-Dances for Wakakirri that reflect students’ thoughts, ideas and aspirations.

Wakakirri consists of primary and secondary schools, dance schools and community groups.

This year’s local Wakakirra performances will be held this Thursday 7 September and Friday 8 September, from 7.15-8.45pm at the Logan Entertainment Centre.

Tickets are $37.
