Martyn and Kate Worsfold recently moved to the Sunshine Coast for work.
And although they said they don’t hate living so close from the water, they do miss the serenity of their Greenbank home.
They moved to the coast in May but have only recently put their home on the market.
166-168 Silvereye Crescent is a large acreage property that Mr Worsfold said gives “all the benefits of peace and tranquillity while having access to local shops”.
“… it was perfect for all our needs,” he said.
They bought the property in December 2016, and moved in with his father-in-law and three of their children.
“The only reason we’re selling is because we’ve had to move up to Noosa for my wife’s work,” Mr Worsfold said.
“We love that property – we love the house; we love the area.”
Mr Worsfold said they enjoy being close to the Noosa River, but they miss the land their Greenbank property offers.
“We’re only on a standard block up here in Noosa, so we definitely miss the rural aspect,” he said.
“The biggest thing we’ve noticed since being up here is how calm and peaceful it is in Greenbank with the birds and the nature.
“It’s a very stark difference, because now we’re on the road where you can hear traffic, where down there you could sit outside and relax – it was really amazing.”
The Greenbank house has a granny flat attached that Mr Worsfold’s father-in-law lived in.
“It’s attached to the house, but completely separate living,” he said.
“It’s actually pretty unique, because it has one large bedroom, a kitchen area, living area, a shower and all that, but it also has an internal doorway through to the main house.
“It worked really well for us because we could go through internally just to make sure he was okay and there weren’t issues.”
Mr Worsfold said his family had some great experiences and made many memories in the home, including a few funny ones.
“We inherited chickens from the previous owners, but we had no idea how to look after them at the time,” he said.
“We also had a couple of geese, and it turns out they had a little baby goose.
“We learned the hard way that geese can be very protective of their babies.”
He said they had great neighbours with kids of similar ages and lived in a “very friendly” neighbourhood.
“It was ideal for my wife’s dad, because he was a bit older couldn’t really look after himself as much, and there was just so much room for the children to have their fun outside,” he said.
“But now two of them 17 and 18 so they’re off doing their own thing in the world.”
