A MAN was assaulted overnight in a robbery partly foiled by a dog.
Police said a man was getting out of his car at Evergreen Avenue, Waterford West, when one of two men stole the keys to his car.
The other man broke into his home, only to be confronted by a dog, forcing the would-be home invader to exit quickly.
The incident happened around 12.45am this morning (31 May).
Detectives from Logan Criminal Investigation Branch are appealing for public assistance.
The duo left the scene in a stolen white 2022 Toyota Corolla Cross.
The victim, a 29-year-old Waterford West man, was transported to Logan Hospital with head injuries.
Anyone with information or dashcam vision is urged to contact police.
