Smoke drifts into Logan

SMOKE is in the air.

Queensland Fire and Rescue authorities say it’s coming from a multi-agency hazard reduction burn near Upper Brookfield.

While there are no fires in Logan, agencies say the smoke is likely to stay around until the end of the week.

People are being urged to avoid driving through smoke where possible and be aware of firefighters working in the area.

Air quality levels in Logan were still “good” as of this morning, much better than some parts of Brisbane.

If air quality worsens, people should stay indoors, and close windows and doors.

Those with health issues should keep respiratory medication close by.
