Seven Logan libraries will next week be participating in a nation-wide joint reading activity for children.
On Wednesday 24 May, local libraries will host a reading of The Speedy Sloth, a book by Rebecca Young, to celebrate the 2023 National Simultaneous Storytime.
Libraries, schools, bookshops, pre-schools and childcare centres across the country will also be reading the same book.
The Speedy Sloth reminds people winning does not always mean beating everyone else – instead, it is the feeling people get from challenging themselves, conquering their fears or trying something new.
Last year, over two million people took part in the event at more than 59,000 locations.
Marsden, Logan North, Beenleigh, Logan West and Jimboomba libraries will host a story time session at 11am, and the Greenbank and Logan Hyperdome libraries’ sessions will start at 10:30am and 10:15am respectively.
Bookings are suggested and can be made online at loglib.org/whatson
