A 16-year-old Daisy Hill girl has died last night (October 11) after the car she was travelling in crashed into a culvert at New Beith.
The driver of the car, a 1989 red Ford Maverick four-wheel-drive, was a 17-year-old boy.
The accident happened last weekend, just after midnight on Saturday October 8. Police said the car left the road while travelling north along New Beith Road when it left the road and entered the culvert.
The girl was taken to hospital but died from her injuries.
The driver had minor injuries and was also taken to hospital.
Forensic Crash Unit investigators are appealing for witnesses, especially those with dashcam vision of the crash or the moments leading up to it to come forward.
