A MAN, 23, has been arrested in a Melbourne apartment in relation to the alleged shooting of a man in a carpark on Logan Road earlier this month.
And Queensland detectives from the Organised Crime Gangs Group want the arrested man extradited back to Queensland to face the courts here.
The man who was shot, aged 27, went to a local hospital with a suspected gunshot wound – the day after he was shot.
Police allege he was shot in the carpark on Monday night, September 12.
He went to hospital on the morning of Tuesday, September 13.
Following extensive inquiries and a public appeal for information, detectives applied for and were granted an arrest warrant for a 23-year-old man, who was believed to be interstate.
The man was arrested by Victoria Police detectives, with the assistance of Queensland Police detectives, at an apartment in Southbank this morning.
He was expected to appear in the Melbourne Magistrates court today, where Queensland detectives would apply to extradite him back to Queensland.
