CRETE Street Theatre at Beenleigh will be putting The 39 Steps on stage on September 16-17.
Starring Jason Nash, Ashleigh Cates, Fiona Buchanan and Christopher Batkin, the show is about a man with a boring life who meets a woman with a thick accent who says she’s a spy.
When he takes her home, she is murdered. Soon, a mysterious organisation called “The 39 Steps” is hot on the man’s trail in a nationwide manhunt that climaxes in a death-defying finale.
Mix a Hitchcock masterpiece with a juicy spy novel, add a dash of Monty Python and you have The 39 Steps, a fast-paced whodunit for anyone who loves the magic of theatre.
“Frenetic, clever, and utterly silly would be how I best describe this brilliantly funny show,” director David Harrison said.
“With four cast members playing too many characters to count, The 39 Steps is a complete riot from the opening pre-show announcement
right through till the curtains close. We have one goal – for your face to be aching from laughing so much.”
Tickets are $30-$35 available from trybooking.com/CBAVR.
Shows are 7.30pm both days with a 1.30pm matinee on Saturday.
