A man from Logan Village, aged 53, was taken to hospital on Saturday afternoon in a critical condition after being found with a wound to his neck and head.
Police set up a crime scene in an effort to find out what happened to the man, how and why.
Officers were conducting a welfare check when they found the man at an address on Quinzeh Creek Road.
Police have appealed to anyone in the area at the time who may have dashcam footage or CCTV to assist the investigation.
