Lexpo puts local business on show

About 30 businesses displayed their wares at an exhibition at Meadowbrook Golf Club at the weekend.

Despite patches of rain during the day, dozens of people at any given time streamed through the makeshift exhibition space.

Radio 101fm aired live, while businesses from banks to cake makers, and government organisations to authors spoke about their products.

Chamber president Stewart Fleming said it was a great opportunity for local businesses to connect.

“We saw a considerable amount of business being done on the day,” he said.

“It’s been a tough year for many businesses and it’s true that some have been forced to close their doors due to the current situation.

“But we’re also seeing a number of people starting businesses in this economic climate. We hope that we’ve seen the worst of the pandemic, which means we’re in a position to now start the recovery.

“The best way to do that is to work together to ensure we’re in the best possible position to succeed.

“The more we can do to help businesses stay on track, the more jobs we’ll be able to create, and the closer we’ll come to normality.”
